Season 1 | Episode 1

Jessica Macpherson – Founder & CEO of St Kilda Mums.

St Kilda Mums is an organisation that collects, sorts and rehomes pre-loved items such as nursery equipment, clothing and toys for babies and children.

Whilst many of us are fortunate to be able to provide these items for our kids, there are many families in Melbourne that welcome a newborn into the world and don’t have the basic necessities. Or life has thrown them a curve ball and they’re in a situation that they weren’t expecting and need support.

Jessica and the team of volunteers at St Kilda Mums are on a mission to waste less, share more and care for every baby and child.

In this episode, Jessica shares:

  • How and why St Kilda Mums began.

  • The challenges St Kilda Mums has faced  to grow and help more people.

  • Who St Kilda Mums helps and the impact of their work.

  • The practical ways that Melbourne Mums can get involved and help St Kilda Mums achieve its mission.

  • Advice to those who are considering starting a not-for-profit or charitable activity.

  • Shares the news of an exciting future project.
